Khrystos Voskres
Happy Easter 𓇬 I managed to get my Good Friday bread in the oven on time (it’s been a few years since I’ve done a braided wreath, the version I usually associate with Pascha). It turned out really lovely and I’ll be able to use it for offerings, etc. in the months ahead.
I also experimented a bit with my egg dyes and added beets to the mix. By themselves, they yielded a blue-grey hue, and cooled the color of the onion skin dye when combined. I skimped on my own recipe (shared in my zine!) because I was using the few onions I already had at home, so while they didn’t become the classic, rich red, I liked the deep, earthy brown.
I often reflect on Mary Magdalene during Easter. The moment of recognition when she hears her name is my favorite passage of scripture (John 20: 14-16).
Thank you again to everyone who supported my recent statuette and zine release. I’m in the middle of finishing a couple of Marys, which I hope to offer this week in a quick, separate release as a support effort for an injured friend.
